This was the first time I've ever been to soup kitchen. I was in charge of serving coffee. It was intimidating at first, because there were so many people, and some of them look very impatient. But there was really no need to worry, because most homeless people are easy to get along with, and they were nice to us. One interesting fact is that most of them asked for more than two spoonful of sugar with their coffee; I later learned that addicts crave sugar because it makes them feel good. Some people asked where we were from, because they were impressed by our service. They even gave us a round of applause. Although it was tiring, I felt very rewarded.
